This Year, Mark Zuckerberg Is Meeting A New Person Every Day (FB)

Every year, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg gives himself a personal challenge.

A couple years ago, it was to wear a tie every day. The next, to learn Mandarin. Last year, he swore off all meat that wasn't from an animal he killed himself.

He just told Fortune magazine what his personal challenge is this year: to meet a new person every day.

"I’m meeting one new person outside of Facebook every day. Who doesn’t work at Facebook. It’s going well—I’ve done a bunch of things in the community and just tried to get broader exposure."

Mark Kelly: Background Checks Are Crucial, But NRA 'Right' On Mental Health Records

Legislation that doesn't address universal gun background checks would be a "mistake," Mark Kelly said Sunday on Fox News, adding that efforts should also be made to keep guns from the mentally ill.

Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley (R) is crafting a bill that wouldn't include such background checks, but Kelly, the husband of former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.), expressed skepticism.

"I think any bill that does not include a universal background check is a mistake," he said. "It's the most common sense thing we can do to prevent criminals and the mentally ill from having access to weapons."

Mark Zuckerberg To Push Immigration Reform In New Advocacy Group

WASHINGTON — Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg is forming a new issues advocacy group to promote immigration reform, education and other policies aimed at growing the economy.

Two people familiar with the discussions confirmed the effort, speaking on condition of anonymity because it has not yet been publicly announced.

Zuckerberg will be joining with other high-tech executives and has already signed up several high-profile consultants, including Joe Lockhart, former Clinton White House press secretary now at the Glover Park Group, and Rob Jesmer, formerly executive director of the National Republican Senatorial Committee.
